There are so many options as far as clothing during the fall time. You can layer pretty much everything and mix lots of different textures and patterns. In Indy, now is that confusing time of the season when it’s chilly in the morning, but hot in the afternoon. I came up with several different looks that are super easy to pull together for class on a typical fall day. My biggest tip is to add a statement accessory to any simple outfit. Here is some inspiration.
This accessory was not a piece I thought I would get into, but after picking up this neck scarf from Forever 21, I can’t stop wearing it. I love how it adds a Parisian vibe and a pop of color to my usually very neutral pallet. This outfit is one of my favorites to wear too, and it’s super easy to put together. I’m in love with this button up black skirt, which is a great transitional piece that you could easily wear with tights if it was chillier. The top is a simple t-shirt from Forever 21 that I love. You could really pair any type of t-shirt you want with this skirt, and it would still look really cool. I topped the look off with my neck scarf and some little sneakers.
I am going to be honest. This necklace wasn’t suppose to be missing so many of the little gems. I saw it while out shopping one day, and I really liked the colors, so I decided to pick it up. When I brought it home with me, I finally realized that several of the gems were missing. I was upset at first, but I actually really love it now. It gives the necklace a more vintage vibe as apposed to a more perfect and pristine look. It has become a staple piece in my jewelry collection. I especially love to wear it with this outfit. I love off shoulder tops because I think revealing the shoulders has a similar sexy vibe as showing off one’s curves, so I have been wearing this top through the summer and into the fall season on warmer days. I just paired it with my favorite Express black denim jeans and some comfy flats. It is a really cute and feminine look with the exposed shoulders, and I always gravitate towards it when I want something a bit more girly. Pro tip: Whenever you have an exposed shoulder and chest, add a little highlighter to your collar bones and shoulders for a really pretty glow.
Hats are a very underrated accessory piece that can make a huge difference. Not only do they make you look like you tried very hard on your outfit for the day, but they are great for masking bad hair days. I love this floppy hat I got from Nordstrom Rack a few years back. It adds a cool hipster vibe to the look, and I love pairing it with my curly hair. This t-shirt dress is also one of my go-to looks. The fact that I can wear a giant t-shirt and no pants, and it can still look fashionable is a true blessing. Since it is such a basic piece, I always like to focus more on the accessories. It’s definitely a good look for those warmer fall days, or you could add tights and boots for a more cool weather appropriate look.
