January brings blistering cold temperatures and tons of snow (of course, depending on wear you live). Every year we tell ourselves it doesn’t get THAT cold, but we are lying to ourselves, and every new year brings bellow freezing temperatures that make it seem unbearable go outside in. It seems like there are only two options during the winter: layer up until you look like a marshmallow or look cute and get frost bite. Neither is satisfying, so here are some ways to keep warm that are still fashionable too.

Trench Coat

These trendy coats are fantastic for rigid cold days because they not only cover your top section but also a large portion of your legs. These long coats are perfect for keeping heat in, and they can look chic layered over a sweater and some skinny jeans. I think these coats look great in lighter colors like grey or tan, which is a nice change from the typical black coats you probably already have hanging in your closet.

Tall Boots

Coverage is key during the winter. Any exposed skin becomes the point of torture when heading outside. Tall boots are a great addition of layering to your look. Whether they are knee high riding boots or edgy over the knee boots, these are great shoes to wear with tall warm socks to keep a good portion of your legs warm. They are also great to pair with dresses or skirts that need a little more coverage for your legs.

Fashionable Gloves

For some reason, gloves seem to be so overrated in the winter months. Everyone will bundle up in coats, hats, and scarves, but gloves are often neglected. Some aren’t the most fashionable accessories in the world, but others really are. Winter gloves can show great personality and a chic edge to any winter look. No one wants chapped hands, so pull on a pair of cute gloves.

Pom-Pom Hat

Everyone has to have at least one soft hat with a pom pom on the end in their wardrobe. It’s so important to keep your head and ears warm in the winter, so opting for something cute like this is perfect! It’s a great winter accessory to top of any look. I tend to go for more of the thicker hats because they really keep your head a lot warmer than the thin ones. It is also fun to get them in different colors, both brights and neutrals, to go with any outfit.
